We're excited that you're thinking about getting baptized!

Here's what you need to know about baptism:

  • Baptism is a visual and symbolic demonstration of a person's union with Christ in the likeness of His death and resurrection (Romans 6:4Colossians 2:12)
  • It signifies that a person’s former way of life has been put to death and vividly depicts a person's release from the mastery of sin.
  • The pattern in scripture is that people are baptized after they come to a knowledge and understanding of salvation in Jesus (Acts 2:41Acts 8:12Acts 8:13). Because of that, we want to be as sure as we can that a person actually has a relationship with Jesus and understands the gospel theologically and personally before they're baptized.
  • Baptism should be celebrated. When a person comes up out of the water, we clap, yell, and rejoice because we're celebrating a person crossing from death into life.

We're planning a Baptism Party on Easter Sunday and would love for you to be praying about whether or not you will be baptized on that day.
